Hey guys, I've been lurking here in and off for a while, but I've got that critacal point in life where I'm no longer married, and can finally ditch my bowrider for something fun. Game on!
I'd really like to find a 16' Charger, but I haven't seen any pop up on kijiji in quite some time.
Have any of you guys heard of a 14' Scorpion? I tried to post the kijiji link, but can't figure out how. I'd like some info on that little boat if any of you guys happen to know. Google got me nowhere. Anyhow, cheers for now gents.

The 14' Scorpion was a 14' Sidewinder clone, with a pad bottom. Pretty good boat in its day with a 3 cyl 90 HP Merc. Of course any boat that old needs to be checked for rot.

Thank you for the heads up David. I appreciate the insight. Who manufactured the boat? Any idea what years they were produced? I've also got my eye on what looks to be a pretty nice 18' Charger SK. Looks to be in decent shape, but it's a little bigger than I'm looking for. The lake I'm on 99% of the time is a relative puddle.

What do you want to do with the boat is the first question you need ask yourself.

Speed? Ski? Cruise?

Thanks for the input Voodoo. I'm looking for something capable of decent speeds, but a crazy top end number is not of utmost importance. The rig needs to be a decent ski boat to pull my daughter and friends around first. I've always had a thing for Chargers, so they are at the top of the short list, but I'm open to other suggestions from you guys that have had a few different boats. I don't have room to store anything over 18', so that's my max length. A little shorter would make everything easier.

Stubby, the glaciers are melting, your puddle will get even bigger in the coming years. I think it all depends on how much motor you want to play with.

First Class Fiberglass Marine made a version called the Capricorn. Fibreton (sp?) made a version. More?

Hahaha. Thanks Mike. Power will depend on the length of boat. I can't see me heading North of about 200hp at any point though. If I end up with a shorter boat I've got no problem playing with a stout little V4.

Thank you Carson. That's right up my ally. Appreciate it.
As a side note I run through Hillsdale every week, beautiful spot.
