As some may know, I recently moved to Owen sound for school. I go back home to Sarnia on weekends. Anyways, Im wondering if there is any guys on the board from Owen sound or surrounding area?? Gets pretty boring in the evenings when you don't know anyone. Just lookin to have beers or shoot the shit, work on a boat I don't care!! I gotta keep myself sane or it will be a VERY long 2 years. |

And if you don't care what you work on Mitchie likely has long list of things to do around the house lol! PM him and see what he is up to I grew up in Owen Sound but have moved away for work. It is a nice spot though if you can make a go of it. Some say it is a quaint little drinking village with a fishing problem... |

Owen Sound bay for the most part is deep especially when you rip up and down the middle. Nothing is marked though along either shore. The east shore is more treacherous than the west shore. When I launch I usually launch at Morrison's Marina on the west side of town. It is a small Marina and the guys that own it are great to talk to. Unless it is the fishing derby there is no wait. The bay is nearly always cold. there is a pretty bad shoal out around the point as you head towards Wiarton if you ever feel adventurous in getting out far. If there is a north wind forget about the Bay unless you have a Super Boat or a Great Lakes grain ship as it whips up real good. |

I may just have to drag the boat up before the season is over. Looks like a few of you guys are within a couple hours from here. Could maybe meet up for a run one evening. Gotta get the boat up first. Is there anywhere else to go if the bay is all tore up? |
