I am putting a T750 Mercury motor together. The motor I have is a long shaft late 80's with factory power trim. I happen to have a 402 Mercury short shaft. I should be able to switch power heads and tuners. This would give me a T750 3 cylinder 49 Mercury short shaft which is better for racing. My question is: IF? I mount the 40 hp power head on the long shaft. Is there any resale value for that motor? My initial thought is to just run the T750 as a long shaft. If it doesn't perform. Then sell it rather than have the extra time and cost to do all the switching.
Any suggestions?
