Thanks Rick, I just do not know if I want an extra 135 lbs hanging off the transom of the Seebold.
HPDI - 543 lbs
V6 Special - 408 lbs

Is the improved fuel economy and extra 30 hp worth the added weight and expense?

The Hpdi sips fuel on light boats. Very comparable to a xs as me and ken found out in October. Only issue is the rev limiter if your going for top speed and that's only reason why I have an ox66 now. I love the Hpdi !!

Rob is somone selling this HPDI and you want to buy it?

James, you are correct. I am thinking about the purchasing the HPDI. The old carb'ed 2.6L is working great, I just do not know how the boat will run with the added weight. As far as the rev limiter goes, I could run into the same issues that you were with your HPDI.

I should just smarten up and stop looking at boats and motors.

well if it were me there is no way i would pay 8k for a 2004 HPDI... however i would sell it for that.. lol. beat this guy up see if you can get it close to 6500 then in that case you can sell your 2.6 for 3000 and upgrade cheaply.. the sea bold should be fine with the hpdi.. doesn't Mark have a V8 on his?

Just thinking about the engine at this time. I plan on looking at it over the weekend. If I do not buy it I will pass the info on to whoever would be interested. It is not a $8000 engine.
The extra weight really concerns me, the Seebold was built when the Merc 2.4L was the engine of choice. I believe that engine is around 400 lbs.
