woke up this morning with questions " why mother nature? why?" and "can i find somewhere i can launch" .... so i made a Phone call... and told my Dad to start the plane cuz were going to find a place to boat.

Image

started off toward the south end of simcoe where isabella steamroller said it might be open..

Image

came up to the river and not much ice in that part of the bay... actually saw a boat...

Image

started to head up the west shore north bound and found a couple possible marina launches with lots of open water in the lefroy area ...

Image

Image

headed up to Alcona beach and found it locked with ice with no chance....

Image

some open water over toward Pefferlaw ....

Image

made a left and head down the south shore of kempenfelt bay for some low ice flying...

still A LOT of ice packing up the Barrie launch.... a little depressed about that !

Some pretty sick shots though...you should try and get your dad up there when we're out in the boats - it would make for some unreal pictures

Agreed - looks like there are some open launches around the lake if you don't mind the drive. Careful of the ice bergs though!!

Edit - cool photos. That must be a blast ripping around above the lake :)
