Great colour! Anyone hang a V4 on one yet?

We have only run the Yamaha and Suzuki 90 so far. We look forward to running an E-tec.

We always wanted to run a built-up v4. The power to weight ratio looks favorable. We did run a stock XR 4 Merc 150 on a short mid, it apparently weighs over 400lbs. Went real fast (90mph) but handled bad.

Thank's for posting this Mark. Cool to see the process documented like this.
I like the v4 idea too (especially with a Taylor mid)

How did the Yamaha 90 compare to the Suzuki 90? Acceleration and top end. Do two strokes still rule?

How about one of the 60deg V4s? There was a kid around here with one of those on a voodoo....one of those on a short mid would be cool too (obviously not as cool as a hot proV115....).

This one would work.

David, the only real difference between the four stroke 90 and the two stroke 90 was the weight. 260 lbs to 340lbs.

Doc, what does the metric 115 weight?

P man, I'll have one of those... what does that weigh, and how much hp is in there?

More progress pics tomorrow.

The more recent 115 V4 2 strokes were way too heavy - around 170kgs. No wonder no one raced them in the
smaller offshore classes here in Europe. Unlike the Yam & Tohatsu 90, which are clearly the best choice for a
hull this size.

It is easiest to do the next part upside down.

Glass the hull deck joint, seal the outside seam and put the graphics on...
