Well, I know I just turned 16 so there shouldn't be much of a story but here's how it went growing up with my boat crazy dad. 8-)
When I was about 5 my dad used to bring my older sister and I out for rides on the front of the Glen L he grew up with.

Then when I turned 6 or 7 my dad decided it was time to pass it to the next generation and give me the wheel. He bought me a 5hp Mariner to bomb around with.
Image

When I was maybe 9 my dad heard of two racing hydros for sale so we picked those up. I immediately loved the red one because of its kick-a$$ paint job. (Usually just had the 9.9 on it. Put racing 15 on years later for kicks)

Next my dad bought me my first real race boat when I was 11. An ASH Bezoat with a racing 15 Erude.
Image

Next we got a couple of CSH hydros. One of which is now for our 1957 Mark 30H.
Image

After selling the red "Predator" and the Glen L we got a mini most for the lake when I was 14.
Image

Then my dad surprised me with the voodoo when we pulled into the cottage driveway and I saw it sitting there. I had been looking for a voodoo for myself for about a month prior. I was 14.

When I became of age (15) to race OSY400 at the beginning of this season my dad bought another hydro for me to race.

Finally to end the list, we got Riley's Critch at the end of this season when I was still 15.

I just turned 16 last month so now I am finally of age to drive the T-boats. Looking forward to next season. :D
Maybe we can get a fast boat one day...
Ohh geez, that's enough about me.

I have been around fast boats all of my life, following CBF and APBA races since I was a kid.
I started racing alky runabouts in 1977 and then on to alky hydros........Did it for 14 years winning a Canadian National Championship and 2 Canadian High Point Titles.

I own a overpowered Humber Jewel now     and am looking forward to finishing restoration and getting her back on the water in 2013.

Here's one I like--That's me getting stressed while my Dad blows up the fuel system and Les St. Pierre looks on. 250cc Konig engine on a Marchetti hydro.

I grew up with a cottage on Georgian Bay, right in Honey Harbour. I remember when I was about 7 years old they had the meeting docks for the poker run at the Delawana Inn and you could see it from the front of our property. I stood out there listening to those big v-8s for half an hour. From then on I have been hooked. Finally starting to go fast myself.
