I don't know the weight on kennys, but my hull is supposed to weigh around 1000 lbs according to some research ive done. Really wanna weigh mine as ive stripped out hundreds of lbs. Like Ken said, bottoms are very close indeed and the proof is in the numbers. Im running very close to 90 mph with an old Bridgeport an seating for 5. For my waters, I couldn't imagine a better boat for the money.

I did not know it was a summerford. But I guess it makes sense.. so to be clear, summerford made the srv first? then charger used the molds, made a topdeck and made the sv? or is the top summerford aswell?

good info guys, not a whole lot of these sv's around it seems.

Summerford made 3 versions of the boat. A Vee like yours, a tunnel version of yours, and the SRV. Charger ended up with the molds for the Vee and the tunnel versions of your deck. But not the SRV deck.

Charger has made far more of your boat than summerford did I believe.

Running close to 90 is very good! There's one up here with a 250xs and it won't touch 80 I don't think.

David..the coolest combo would be the SRV hull and a 380 ray deck.

Idle time wasted thinking about what would be the perfect cottage boat: Room for 5, rough water capable, fit my garage, not too big to ski behind, and capable of handling the weight of today's big block motors as that's what is out there.

I don't remember the Charger SV as being reported as special back in its day. Maybe it was too heavy, maybe it just needed more than 200 to wake up. DLs got raced, did anyone race the SV?

The pad is 1/2" wider on the SRV. I'd read that and I'd read that the bottoms were the same.

What is better about the 380 Ray deck? I just looked at my old Charger brochure to see the SV deck. Seems OK.

I think like the SRV, the SV was too late to be raced. All of that had gone to STV's by the time they came to market....thats why there was only 8 original srv's...everyone bought a procomp instead. AND like you mentioned they work really well with big motors.

The 380 deck has the traditional summerford style but seats 5.

Good thread. Do you know of a pic somewhere with the 380 deck? I am not picturing it in my minds eye.
