boats can and do blow over at 60-65 ask gig iv crashed alot of stuff in my life and 9/10 times its when im going slow, saftey gear is a must always,, i wont throw a leg over my dirtbike or snowmobile or atv. without saftey gear, nor would i jump in my boat without having my saftey equipment, not only is it common sence, its the LAW,, i suppose the fines are just pocket change to you.

I've seen that video before, that's why I don't like running behind someone if were at a decent rate of speed. Proper safety gear is a must in any boat but more important in performance applications.

That Im okay with haha, it's when you try to come out off there wake at speed and catch air is alittle sketchy. I had a guy on an rxp seadoo cut me off at 70+, he was 5-8 feet infront of the boat, then I cut around him and dusted him. I hate them cause they think that it's the fastest thing on the lake. But what can you do lol

Like this? lol. Nothing like strolling across the lake at 180. For context, the boat that he left about halfway through the video is a 33 eliminator with twin 1500's in it I think. I also think its Chip Romer, not Don London.

Just to clarify...I did not claim that I boat without safety gear. I am not the smokey the bear of boater safety by any means..but I excercise common sense and courteous boating at all times. But i will admit I dont often wear my jacket unless I am testing my top speed and dont know the water system I am in. I likely should be more safety conscious but I always have what is required by law in my boat...
I merely stated that at 142 mph there isn't much a helmet or anything will do for you besides simplifying the body search and likely being able to have an open casket funeral.
Yes I did sound like I said 142 was a walk I the park..and fuck no..that's a fast boat for sure..twice as fast as mine so far and then some. Its no slouch at all. I just (in my personal opinion as uneducated as it trulh is) figured 142 is a common speed those boats can cruise at when you have the money those guys have. It didnt look like he maxed out the throttle so I assumed it likely goes faster so again I assumed.that the y are probably comfortable with the boat at that speed.

The pilot is Davee(Elsey) and Teddy Gryguc on the right, 2 among a handful of probably the most experienced performance boat drivers/builders in Ontario. Personally, I'll defer to their experience and safety sensibility before I judge at what point/speed/craft type/conditions the next requisite safety steps should be implemented according to my subjectivity.

Who’s sensibility is the definitive safe/unsafe determinant for speed/conditions/ type of craft(vhull vs thull)/ headwind/experience/having 1 drink(legal!), and on & on & on. And WTF does Davee spilling out at 55mph coming out of a corner at WF have to do with this?...He also fell off his bike as a kid. I know for a fact he was one of very few T racers who had full safety compliant/buoyant boat that weekend; I know most didn’t, myself included.

Correct, there is no difference going 100 vs 140 other than whole recovery vs fish food. Performance boating is one of few mildly regulated frontiers of performance motorsport, largely governed by one’s own sensibility of self-preservation, on whichever side of disaster that may rest. It doesn’t need to be judged every time on this forum. Didn’t we already go through that BS with Boomers infamous welcome here, shredding him to shit within first week for deck surfing?....Oh geez, he’s a nice guy, all forgotten and forgiven; no shit, we could have done without the judgmental online drama ad nauseum.
Here’s this week’s Safety Crusader challenge: when you see another driver hurtling 120+kph down the road with a cellphone to their head, exercise your righteous outrage to pull them over, or at next stoplight, lecture safety, theirs/yours/your kid/dog/others, tell them how F’n goofy they are, should know better…..or is that just too inconvenient to give a shit? Right, keep driving.
