T750 performance has improved over the last couple of years. REASON: Boat set ups and driving skill. WHERE WE ARE AT TO-DAY: We have 4 boats that are very equal...The boat with the best start and fewest driving errors will win. Three of the boats are OMC two stroke motors One motor is the new 60 hp 4 stroke race [F4} motor. - one Rapid Craft - one Allison - one Critchfield - one Delta ALL OF THE BOATS ARE RUNNING OVER 60 MPH ON THE OVAL. AS A ROOKIE...WHAT TO EXPECT: - you need to get driving experience in T750 races to be competitive...Driving ability is key in T750 - the OMC or the 4 stroke Mercury are best in T750 at this point in time. - the 4 stroke races BONE STOCK out of the box..you can buy one new from the dealer - the OMC motor is race prep to SST 45 specs BOATS: - you will not be competitive against these top 4 boats without a similar hull. - get one of the 4 hulls mentioned above. - TOP GUN SELLS NEW CRITCHFIELDS - restoring an old raceboat costs more in time and labour than a new boat - it would be great to have the Delta molds as another boat option. THE OMC 2 CYLINDER MOTOR: - you need a 15 inch [short shaft] - 60 hp short shafts are less common than 50 or 40 HP - 40, 50, 60 hp are basically the same motor - you will need at least 2 powerheads - BE PATIENT....you can buy these motors under $800. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-motorb ... nFlag=true - you MUST rebuild the motor to race specs....it is not that costly..T guys can help - motors are race prep STOCK... - T750 motors are running the the 6800 to 7300 rpm range turning 22, 23, and 24 pitch props - for engine advise talk to Paul at Top Gun Marine...Paul normally has parts and props for both T classes and even a new 4 stroke if you decide to go the easy root.
