Will My Trim gauge work with my jack plate?

it has wires for a gauge... one red one black..

Seems like odd wire coloring for a gauge set up

Detwiler uses Merc trim switches for their plate. My Neighbour has one on his tunnel.

put an ohm meter across the wires and raise the plate,if the ohms drop while raising it, might work!or may read wrong [wont get a full sweep]! solution is to mount a light duty throttle cable similar to a lawn mower,and run it to the matching sender mounted inside the boat!you'll have to work out the goemetry for the sender movement to get a full sweep on the gauge! My twin plate works this way going over 30 yrs.! this way you can keep the gauges matching!

This is better than my idea of getting a co-op student to sit in the back of your boat and constantly yell out the postion of the jack plate to you

too late i already hired him. i made a seat in my splash well already too... there's no turning back at this point.

Good idea....keep the weight as far back as possible!! If you're cuising he can still reach the cooler to toss you a beverage without taking up valuable cockpit space!
