Holy crap that's high with 6" of setback. You're probably 3/4" to 1" above me.

Thx for that info guys - I'm pulling the new gear case off this weekend to start on the LWP install.

Going to run the "spare" for a bit, but once the Bob's in on the new case - I'll be shooting to have the drive shaft in those areas you mentioned.

So far - I can't get past about 83-83 without blowout on the regular case. Shaft probably about 2" or more below the pad.

Mitch - what are the Characteristics of the Cleaver you are running?
Bow lift?
Stern lift?

You had mentioned that your boat likes a lot of trim. I find with the Hoss that it develops a crap load of bow lift, real easily. Just wondering if the cleaver is the opposite and that's why you need so much trim?

Thx

My boat likes trim regardless. It doesn't go fast without trim. I ran my Hoss last Saturday when I had the dogs and Jules in the boat... I switched it for my cleaver the next day with the same load. I've grown very fond of them. I ran 99.8 with LC in the boat and my non labbed 32 last year.... It runs 101 with just me and the same prop. It handles fine. One side note. I was running my new case without my foil the same day..... It confirmed to me again that all performance boats should have one... Cavitation is for dummies.

How high is the motor Doug?

About 1 3/4" - 2" above the pad. Any more than that my wp drops below 10 psi

I wonder if more set back would be a good thing?

You can use James' optimum setback formula. Boat Length X .25 = setback

Stop giving away my secrets....

Mitchie if your boat needs lots of trim... Throw some setback at it.. How many times do I have to tell you. It like talking to a brick wall.

Lower the motor until you get 18 to 20 psi @ wot with lots of trim like Michie says. If that don't work, through a 36" Bravo 1 and see what happens or $pend a little more and get the cleaver hammered out to work for your boat. If all else fails ... DBR :D

A consistant 101 no matter what prop I have been running :?: Will have to maybe try another 2" of setback and perhaps try a coned Bob's case next

None of them  ......I haven't hit 110 yet.
Every prop has worked well - just have to spend some more time playing with different setback and heights to find the magic combination
