The open deck critch in the link does have a 49'er on it. 1985 70hp powerhead, pro 50 yamaha trim, nice 24 raker. We put it together for the current owner. Cut the transom height down for the 15", added the aluminum plates, new allison seats, rewired the boat etc. She is a great driving hull, n... |

I don't think any of the large 70 hp lower units have 4 hole water pick ups. Here is a 1975 nitro: https://www.screamandfly.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=339095&d=1457841184 If it is not a nitro then it likely is not a 70 hp case. The larger V4 cases were 4 hole water pick up. https://i.pinim... |

The one I bought from Ron hill works pretty good. Im over 70mph with an out of the box 12 1/2" × 24p cleaver. Ive been wanting to get it worked but there is a ton more engine setup to be done first That is interesting. Most run 23 pitch. Last year some top T750 OMC guys were looking to try 24 ... |

that's great Don, I'll take you up on that for sure. Other racers had good success with these Ron Hill Jeff Brown cleavers so I got a Jeff Brown Cleaver from Ron Hill this past summer in a size I thought would be good for my current setup. Out of the Box, the this prop matched my current top speed,... |

Gwen at Above Board Covers does nice work. I can second this. She has done a number of seats for us and have never been disappointed in quality and pretty fair pricing. The turn around time can be a bit on the longer side as she gets a fair amount of large projects from what I saw last time I was t... |

I assume the sst60 gearcase is still an illegal case to run in drags? Drags would interest me to run with our delta but have an sst60 lower 3 cylinder rules indicate "low water pickup, nose cone permitted" based on how written a sst60 would fit within rules "nose cone permitted"... |

Personally I grew up with tillers, then to controls and have only used a hotfoot/trim on the wheel in our tunnel. For a low powered starting point I would use controls but all depends on what your son thinks. If you have a seat mounted in the boat, get him to sit in it and pretend to drive with a ha... |
