I didn't like the big block on mine...they are already predisposed to porpoising and the extra weight didn't help cruising. My 225 worked really well but my favourite motor was a 200hpdi (2.6 L). Given the way the DL's on the site here run I wouldn't knock Yamaha power until you try it ;).

I imagine when your exhaust catches on pit tents and tree branches you're going to run into problems with the tech guy...he may also note a change in exhaust pitch while on the course. That may be a tough one to slip under the radar :)

You need the proper gauge/tool but there should be a schrader valve (tire valve) on the "out" or pressure side of the fuel system. You patch in there and you should be able to see what the high pressure side is doing. Paul has the tool I'm sure as would any merc dealer (if they know how to...
