ok I pulled out a clutch and fwd gear to see what's what.
I had been looking at it backwards. The GearPros one makes sense now.
The ramp is on the trailing side of the dog - so it'll start to fall in to the gear sooner.

That's what I was thinking, Thom.. So I hope someone can explain why it would be better with that "relief ramp"..

I replaced an older clutch dog in my lower because of those same worn areas.

Out of the 2 sets I bought from GearPros, one of them has the same issue described above by mercrazy, the other is ok.

Not impossible for a machine shop to bore out the inner bushing by one or two thou, but still annoying.

For a Delta, the 4 in setback worked well for me. And that is with a lot of weight towards the back (soaked transom, heavy Yamaha mid)..

I can only imagine with a lighter transom and a sharper straighter bottom, it'll be more good. ;)

I had no jack plate with my non race VooDoo. The top of the bullet was even with the bottom of the pad. No planing problems with round ear props (3).

That makes sense, depending on the prop details..

Mine is a bit higher but setback 3 or 4 in.
