Don My Dad had a Mark 78A, 6 cyl direct reversing! ~ 1960. Short shaft come to think of it. Love to have it now, stick it on an old Glasstron and show you guys! (Assuming it is < 60 cubes.) My first BIG engine was a Merc 800DR, short shaft with a Quickie. Put it on an old GW Invader 15'. Can I race...

It's good to have these types of threads and posts. We get lots of opinions and an understanding that we can address concerns and make adjustments as and when needed. It is all about communication. Dave you may remember that late 50's NOS 59.9 cubic inch 6 cylinder Mercury short shaft the collector ...

Already tried in APBA FV. MOD MOTORS, then bigger motors. bigger boats, safety cells. Class was dead in 2 years.
No need to repeat history.

Just a note was to why the 56 OMC was put in the class. [1] other than the crank, it is easier, less costly to build than a 49. [2] the 56 was in the FV PPR class, so there were boats and motors already there. [3] the FV guys who raced against Jim's Yamaha thought a 49 could not compete. [4] Mercury...

Dave's comment: My choice would be 49 is a different class than the 56's, yet run together in the same race. (Scored separately... like the other classes) So what do we do with the 70 Yamaha and the 60 cubic inch Mercury. Both of those motors have less prop shaft horsepower than the 49 OMC? Do we ha...

Not sure if you guys are members to this site. YET. Let's see if there is interest during the 2012 race season. This would be something we would work on for next year. [2013] At TORC we want to expand our boat count in Thunder Cat. I did have feedback that there were several of these tunnels in Onta...

Just a few thoughts about grass roots racing; [1] most people are there for fun, competition and friendship building. [2] most people do not have a lot of money to spend. [3] most people lack a lot of knowledge or have been given wrong information. [4] most people will beleive what they hear as true...

Dave's Question: I like this idea! ... How many boats is too many in one heat? 5 or less? Or if there was 12, run 7 pros and 5 Rookies? The final could then run the top 5 based on time? Just thinking out loud... Dave, a balanced number of boats per heat is nice. But, take last years race at Dunnvill...

jake@elsey.ca Questions So that poses a couple questions for me. Do 49's have to have under 160 psi same as the 56's? Jake you can increase your 145 to 150 compression to 160. It is the same rules for all. And is that the only difference between a 56 and an sst60 - the 20 psi? An SST 60, an early fi...

Open discussion on the T Engine rules, Running of heats and Points. They were on another site and got deleted. Anyway, it is good to fresh everyone T Engine Rules in T850 and T750 T850 The questions are only about the 56 OMC T850 and the 49.9 in T750 So I will address those two only. T850 in UIM is...
