I ran the same tests and found no difference in top end with the 10 psi higher compression. However, the acceleration was definitely better with the higher compression. In once instance, I saw a slight drop in top end with the higher compression. I lost about 0.6 mph. :) :)

:D If you consider using a 70 hp, 56 fishing motor or a SST-60, 56 block, and the port height variations from the stock motor to the SST-60, and then factor in the tolerances allowed on the ports, there is no way a pocket depth gauge will work. You may require a pocket depth of 0.530" on a stoc...

:) The problem with running a faster class with the T-750's is having to run back in their wash, which makes winning T-750 more difficult. The faster boats are getting in the way of the slower boats, effecting the outcome of a race. Having to turn wide around them, fighting their wash, or getting bo...

I'm with Jake on the 49.7's w/ big foots; they will totally dominate. Question we all have to answer is should they be in a separate class. I feel they should. Having them run with T-750's depends of course on the boat count.

I appreciate your taking the time to give us the heads up on this. When do you think a decision will be made as to the short 15" big foot 49.7 cid? My reason for asking is that Todd & I want Mathew to run the T-750 boat when he turns 16 next season. He will weigh about 250 pounds by then. I...

Hi Erik, Both Todd & I will be happy to either be T class rep or engine inspector. However, I think we should rotate the T class rep and engine inspector on occasion, so as to keep a fresh perspective in our T classes. The key is to not have the same individual do both. Also, it probably is not ...

Don,

Does this then rule out the 49.7 cid 3 cylinder motors with the big gear case?

Thanks Thom

You are very welcome. I guess it just did not seem in everyones' best interest to have the builder of many T class engines, be the engine inspector, and T-class rep as well.

:) Hi Don, Todd & I had a great weekend as well. We were disappointed that Todd lost #3 on his T-850 motor, but otherwise a good time. I have made an observation that I think should be addressed in the future, if the T classes are to survive. Both Todd & I feel it is a conflict of interests ...
