Yes, but if you match port the exhaust port to the block you end up with the same port height as the SST-60 (1.450"), with chamfer 1.393". So in reality, the SST-60 Spec. was used by those that ran the oval port on V's and turned 7500 rpm. The chamfer is a must and it should peak at the ap...

:) Use the SST-60 tuner on the oval port motor as well as the bridgeport if you want more top end. In addition alter the ports to the SST-60 specs (1.450" without chamfer, & 1.393" to top of chamfer). You want to chamfer the upper lip of the exhaust port at about a 30-45 degree angle t...

:) Yes, the reason the plastic top carbs have smaller hi speed jets (52D's) is due to the supplemental fuel entering through the intermediate circuit (60D's). The metal carbs (large bore) from the SST-60 have no intermediate circuit and run 73D's for the hi speed.. The 33 air bleeds on the metal car...

Almost forgot to mention there are aftermarket gaskets that are .015" thicker than the stock OEM gaskets. Sierra Supply is one source to check out.

:? First, raising the compression will not give you more top end speed. You will gain low & mid range torque for better acceleration, but not gain on the big end. You can mill as much as .0125" or 3+ mm and not have water jacket issues. The SST-60 has a pocket depth of 0.450" +/-.010&q...

You need to check bottom 4-6ft up from transom with a carpenters' level. If there are any air gaps between level and hull, that could cause problems. Usually a bow in the bottom or a rocker bottom will cause the bouncing. Any air gaps that exceed .015-.020" needs to be addressed.

Also, the adjustable low speed should be set at 2-2 1/2 turns out for best idle.

The 60D's are the intermediate air jets. If you go smaller in size, you will get less air, so the mid range will be richer. The hi speeds are the 52D's. They are fuel jets and the smaller you go the leaner you get. I would try going to 53 or 54D's in the hi speed jets. You can order them from any BR...
